CHAPTER 4 All things change, but love never fades.

CHAPTER 4 All things change, but love never fades.  Love never fails. “Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:8) • Never means never—love endures every season, every trial, every age. Romans 8:38-39 assures that nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.” • This is not mere emotion; 1 John 4:8 says, “God is love,” so love endures because God Himself endures. • Love’s permanence gives it priority over every gift. Jesus confirmed this priority when He said, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). • Even when faith becomes sight and hope is fulfilled, love keeps right on going (1 Corinthians 13:13). It never falls, flickers, or fades. But where there are prophecies, they will cease “…But where there are prophecies, they will cease…” (1 Corinthians 13:8) • Prophecy is God’s Spirit-given ability to speak His message for edification (1 Corinthians 14:3). • Yet its very purpose—guiding us while we see “in ...

CHAPTER 3 - Behold The Lamb Of God! - John 1:29

CHAPTER 3 Behold The Lamb Of God! - John 1:29 The next day “The next day” (John 1:29) links directly to the events of John 1:19-28, where John the Baptist had testified before the priests and Levites. Scripture is unfolding in real time; God’s plan is progressing day by day (John 1:35, 43). God is purposeful with timing. Galatians 4:4 reminds us, “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent His Son…”. Here we see that fullness advancing. John saw Jesus coming toward him John’s eyes are fixed on Jesus, fulfilling his role as forerunner (Malachi 3:1; John 1:6-8). He recognizes Jesus by prior divine confirmation: “The One who sent me… told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit descend…’” (John 1:33). From the outset, Jesus moves intentionally toward people—picture of incarnation and pursuit (Luke 19:10). Look A call to immediate attention and personal response. It is more than noticing; it is beholding with faith. • Numbers 21:8-9—those bitten had to “look” at the bronze serp...

CHAPTER 2 - Hating Your Life to Keep It for Eternal Life? - John 12:25

CHAPTER 2 Hating Your Life to Keep It for Eternal Life? - John 12:25 Whoever loves his life Jesus begins with a condition that feels natural to us—cherishing our own plans, comforts, and ambitions. Yet Scripture consistently warns that self-centered affection pushes God to the margins (see Matthew 16:24-25; 2 Timothy 3:2). To “love” life in this way means making personal success the controlling priority instead of the Lord’s will. • It is a love that resists surrender, much like the rich young ruler who “went away sad” rather than part with his possessions (Mark 10:17-22). • It is a love that seeks the applause of the world, the very temptation Jesus rejected in the wilderness (Luke 4:5-8). Will lose it The outcome is stark: clinging to life on our own terms ends in forfeiture. This is not merely temporal loss but ultimate separation from the life God gives (Luke 9:24; Romans 8:13). Any life built on self will crumble: • Earthly achievements fade (James 1:11). • Security anchored in we...

CHAPTER 1 - We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

CHAPTER 1 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps . A man’s heart • God created people with minds capable of real intention, reason, and desire. • Those inner motives matter to Him (1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 21:2). • “The plans of the heart belong to man” (Proverbs 16:1), showing genuine human responsibility. • We must guard that heart diligently (Proverbs 4:23) because whatever rules there will shape every outward choice. Plans his course • We map out careers, families, budgets, and dreams, aiming for a straight line to our goals. • Jesus Himself endorsed thoughtful planning (Luke 14:28–30). • Yet James warns, “You who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city’ … you do not know what tomorrow will bring” (James 4:13-14). • Our spreadsheets, calendars, and five-year strategies are legitimate—just not ultimate. But the LORD • Here comes the grand interruption: God’s sovereign conjunction. • “Our God is in the heavens; He does as He pleases” (Psalm 115:3)....
